Betting on Mexico when the environment becomes uncertain requires more than optimism. It requires operational conviction and a long-term vision. Aprile MTO México, an Italian freight forwarder with nearly 25 years of presence in the country, remained active during the most complex periods and is now preparing a new phase of growth toward the northern region and the Bajío, supported by its technical specialization and a consolidated team structure.

Founded in Genoa in 1974, Aprile has built a solid international presence across Latin America, with operations in Argentina, Brazil, and Peru, as well as offices in the United States, India, China, and the United Kingdom. In Mexico, this trajectory has translated into a stable operation capable of navigating both growth cycles and market slowdowns without compromising operational excellence.

“Mexico occupies a key position in global supply chains, especially along the corridor with the United States. It is a country where you cannot stop investing,” says Esther Nebot, Managing Director of Aprile MTO México. She emphasizes that the company’s commitment remains firm: “We want to continue investing in Mexico.”

Aprile’s competitive advantage lies in its specialization in project cargo, breakbulk, Ro-Ro, and oversized shipments, where logistics engineering makes the difference. This capability has been strengthened over the years and is supported by a specialized department in Genoa dedicated exclusively to project cargo operations.

In the Mexican market, this capability is complemented by FCL and LCL ocean freight services, air freight, and the continued development of overland transport to and from the United States and Central America.

The expansion planned for this year includes reestablishing commercial presence in Monterrey to strengthen synergies with the Houston office and reinforce the logistics corridor with the United States. New potentical offices in San Luis Potosí and Querétaro are also being considered in response to the growth of the automotive and manufacturing sectors in the Bajío region.

Beyond infrastructure, Nebot highlights the human factor as one of the company’s strategic pillars. Aprile strongly invests in internal talent development, one of the organization’s most valuable assets, with low staff turnover and training processes that allow professionals to grow from early stages of their careers. This stability strengthens trust with clients and strategic partners.

For Nebot, Mexico still holds significant growth potential. If Aprile continued investing even during the pandemic, today’s expansion confirms that this decision reflects a long-term vision.

“We continue investing because we believe in the Mexican market and in the sustained development of trade and industry in the country.”
